What is your favorite thing about SAA?

The word “sisterhood” is used almost daily at St. Agnes Academy, but for good reason. There is a genuine sense of sisterhood and camaraderie amongst students at St. Agnes. This sense of sisterhood is extremely comforting and offers a multitude of opportunities to branch out and meet people you otherwise wouldn’t.

How do the teachers at SAA make learning meaningful?

Aside from offering an outstanding education, teachers at Saint Agnes also offer a shoulder to lean on. The teachers make a genuine effort to have a connection with their students, which makes learning much more personal and fun.

What activities are you involved in at SAA and how have these activities made an impact on you?

I am heavily involved with Saint Agnes’ Theatre Department. Drama teacher, director, and mentor Ann Neal has changed my life for the better in too many ways to count. She not only teaches how to be a great performer, but also how to be a better person. The theatre is a sacred space for us “theatre kids” because we are a family in there and will always have a sense of belonging because of the arts.

If you had to choose one, which theatre production has been your favorite thus far?

Once on This Island (OOTI) has to be my favorite theatre production because there was so much raw emotion and hard work involved with that show. OOTI was the perfect storm (pun intended) as the cast had overwhelming talent and chemistry. I think back to closing night when we couldn’t get through the final number because the entire cast was sobbing. The entire cast still has a group chat and still talk to this day despite most of them having graduated.

What does being a leader mean to you?

A leader is so much more than “being in charge.” Saint Agnes, particularly Dr. Lovelace, has taught me that leadership comes in many different forms. Sometimes being a leader is uniting a group of people and delegating work, while other times it involves really getting your hands dirty to complete a task. Ultimately, SAA has taught me how to become a better leader so I can use those skills when I graduate.

What activities do you do outside of school?

Outside the walls of Saint Agnes I am a music and film fanatic. I spend a lot of my time listening to and creating music. I play five instruments and most time is spent really honing my craft, learning music theory, and writing. When I’m not in the studio, I am writing scripts or watching a film I have wanted to see for ages.
