11 Sep, 2024
Check, Please! plunges the audience into the chaotic world of blind dating. It is a show that will have you laughing from start to finish! It is a comedy, filled with vignettes (short scenes) about many different characters that experience the world of blind dating, filled with every single weird situation that you can possibly imagine.
The plot revolves around a series of bad blind dates, each one being worse than the other. Ranging from a sports-obsessed lunatic to the creepy weirdo who doesn't respect your space, this show has all sorts of characters. It provides an opportunity for our school’s amazing actors to showcase their character-building skill and talent. It goes into themes such as love, rejection, and the painful awkwardness of human interaction.
Here's a couple reasons on why you should check it out:
1-This show is fast-paced, having many surprises that will keep you entertained throughout the performance with the ups and downs of dating.
2-Where else can you get both a dinner and a show at the same time? There will be two intermissions, with food catered by Heart & Soul Catering (owned by the family of Halle Francis ’28) at each break. A ticket for the show and meal costs $20, and a show-only ticket is $10.
You can clearly tell that this cast is having an amazing experience, both within the show and with each other. There are some old faces you may recognize from prior performances and some new talent that will definitely leave you amazed. So, make time September 19th - 21st, to stop by the Hook Theatre for dinner and a show. Check, Please! is a show you don't want to miss.
