A Culture of Truth

Founded on Catholic principles and enriched by Dominican Spirituality, SAA-SDS educates young people to pursue Veritas (truth) through the Pillars of Prayer, Study, Community and Service. Veritas is not just a motto but our guiding compass, and the SAA-SDS Honor Code serves as the foundation of our shared experience.

At the beginning of each school year, we pause as a community to reaffirm our culture of truth and integrity as students, teachers, and administrators commit themselves to being people of honor and peace.

Recently our K-8 students, faculty, and deans each signed a copy of the school’s Honor Code. The signed posters now hand in the hallways of the Junior High, SAA Lower School, and St. Dominic School serving as a reminder of our campus-wide commitment.

In the coming weeks, Upper School students will sign the Veritas Book, pledging their personal commitment to uphold the Honor Code. Signing this book ties our current students to the generations of SAA students who came before them and pledged to uphold the same Code.

Upper School students continue to reaffirm their pledge throughout the year, writing the following words on their academic work: “On my honor, I have neither given nor received any information on this assignment.”

The school’s Honor Code is a living commitment that shapes our students’ character from the earliest days of kindergarten to the moment of graduation.  With statements such as, “be honest to myself and others” and “be an honorable person at all times,” the Honor Code challenges students to accept personal responsibility and become ethically grounded individuals who are empowered to go forward and build Veritas in our world.

WE, THE STUDENTS AND FACULTY OF ST. AGNES ACADEMY-ST. DOMINIC SCHOOL HEREBY PLEDGE OUR FULL SUPPORT TO THE HONOR SYSTEM.

I PLEDGE TO BE HONEST TO MYSELF AND OTHERS IN ORDER THAT THE SPIRITAND INTEGRITY OF THE HONOR SYSTEM MAY ENDURE.

MY WORK AND MY ACTIONS WILL REFLECT MY COMMITMENT TO BE ANHONORABLE PERSON AT ALL TIMES.
