Meet Our Lower School SGA Presidents
Lower School SGA Presidents Brooke Clayburn (SAA 8) and Jack Tansey (SDS 8)
29 Oct, 2025
Elected by their peers, the Lower School St. Agnes and St. Dominic SGA Presidents lead the student body by example. They are excellent role models-of moral character, academic integrity, and leadership ability. We recently asked newly elected Presidents Brooke Clayburn (SAA 8) and Jack Tansey (SDS 8) a few questions to get to know them a little better, and this is what they had to say.
Why did you want to be SGA president?
Brooke: I wanted to become SGA president because I believe I have leadership qualities, and that I wanted to share them with the student body.
Jack: I have always wanted to be the SGA President because when I was younger, I would look up to the president. I want to be someone the younger students look up to.
What did it mean to you to have the support of your classmates?
Brooke: It showed me that my character, loyalty, and school support have impacted others enough for them to support me as president.
Jack: It meant a lot to have their support-and know that they wanted me to be the president.
What is your favorite thing about SAA & SDS?
Brooke: My favorite thing about SAA-SDS is that students have the ability to initiate change, and all the opportunities to display my leadership skills.
Jack: I like how the SAA-SDS community is so strong, and that you can have strong relationships with a lot of friends.
How do you think junior high is preparing you for high school?
Brooke: It helps me with balance. Being involved in sports, acting, choir, and being friends with people from different backgrounds has most certainly prepared me for high school.
Jack: I think we are getting academically prepared by having to stud, and we have a good amount of work so that will help us be ready.
What other activities are you involved in?
Brooke: I am involved in many sports like tennis, lacrosse, basketball, volleyball, and other things like acting and choir.
Jack: I play lacrosse for MLA, Team Tennessee and CBHS.
As student leaders, Brooke, Jack, and the rest of the Lower School SGA Executive Council, have been meeting with the Presidential candidates for our SAA-SDS school community. These meetings have been an opportunity for the students to ask questions and to hone real-world skills such as learning to effectively communicate. We are proud to show off our student leaders!
