Stars Win Region Title!

St. Agnes Stars Sarah Hooten, Mary Caroline Waggoner, and Zoee Moix are the TSSAA Div. II-AA Regional Champs in golf!
26 Sep, 2025
After a hard-fought battle on the links, the St. Agnes Academy Stars captured the TSSAA Division II–AA Girls Golf Region title. The championship came down to the wire this week, as St. Agnes and St. Mary’s finished tied after 18 holes. The Stars went on to secure the victory in a playoff after senior Mary Caroline Waggoner sunk a 25-foot putt to seal the win.
“I’m so proud of the way our girls stayed composed under pressure,” said St. Agnes head coach, Cynthia Giannini. “To battle through 18 holes, then come out on top in a playoff shows their resilience and teamwork.”
Next up for the Stars – they head to Sevierville, Tennessee to compete for the TSSAA Division II–AA state title on October 6!
