Meet Our Security Supervisor, Solomon Lamar

Meet Our Security Supervisor, Solomon Lamar

17 Sep, 2025

This year, we are enhancing campus safety by bringing the management of our security team in-house, giving us greater oversight, consistency, and connection with our school community. At the forefront of this effort is our new Security Supervisor, Solomon Lamar. You may have already noticed him on campus, where he is quickly making a positive impact and ensuring a strong, reassuring presence for students, families, and staff each day.

Officer Lamar brings decades of experience rooted in service, protection, and leadership beginning in law enforcement with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office. He has also been an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician for the past 20 years. He spent several years in armed security for Fortune 500 Companies where he was trusted to safeguard high-value personnel, assets, and operations.

Whether on the streets, in corporate America, or at SAA-SDS, Office Lamar remains calm under pressure, mission-focused, and deeply committed to the safety and security of others. Now with SAA-SDS school safety as his top priority, he is working to build a team focused on the motto “Saint Agnes Academy–St. Dominic School, where learning thrives because safety is never compromised.”.

“Working at St. Agnes Academy-St. Dominic School presents an opportunity for me to contribute to a safe, secure and supportive environment for young men and women,” said Officer Lamar. “I believe that every student deserves the chance to learn and grow in a setting where they feel safe, protected, and respected. I take pride in building trust with parents, students and educators and in being a consistent, dependable presence they can trust and rely on.

“As we continue to build our team, know that our security officers are/will be experienced, thoroughly vetted, and aligned with the values and expectations of our school community. Their Our goal is to provide a safe, welcoming, and secure environment for every student and staff member,” he explained.

When he isn’t protecting our community, Officer Lamar spends his spare time traveling the world and, most importantly, mentoring his children who are now in law enforcement, passing on the values of resilience, responsibility, and integrity that have guided him throughout his life.

When you see Officer Lamar on campus, please introduce yourself. Contact him if you have questions or need support from security.
