St. Agnes Academy is pleased to announce that Hannah Cox will join the staff as the Head Varsity Volleyball Coach.
“We are excited for the future of Stars Volleyball,” said Matt Nelson, SAA-SDS Athletic Director. “Coach Cox understands what it takes to compete at a high level, while also understanding the everyday rigors of the student-athlete experience. She is actively involved in the volleyball community in Memphis and fully appreciates the need to develop talent and build school community through sports. I am confident she will continue to build on our winning tradition.”
Coach Cox brings experience at every level of the game as both a player and a coach. She won a state championship in high school at Briarcrest before beginning her Division I collegiate career at Arkansas State University. Although sidelined early due to injuries, she remained with the team as a manager and assistant to the coaches.
While in Jonesboro she coached group lessons with players ranging in age from elementary school to college and coached five seasons of competitive Junior Olympic Volleyball. Most recently she was the Junior Varsity coach at St. Mary’s Episcopal School, and she currently coaches the U-18 Elite Team at Memphis Juniors Volleyball Club.
The St. Agnes Academy Stars have been the Division I-AA Region champs three out of the last four years. This season they advanced to the finals of the state tournament.
