National Merit Commended Students Lilly Sobalvarro and Madelyn Havard

St. Agnes Academy Seniors Madelyn Havard and Lilly Sobalvarro have been named National Merit Commended Students by the National Merit Scholarship Program. Students qualify for National Merit recognition based on their scores from the junior year Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
Over 1.4 Million juniors take the PSAT and only 50,000 qualify for National Merit Recongition. Madelyn and Lilly have received Letters of Commendation in recognition of their outstanding academic promise ranking them among the top 3-4% of students.
Madelyn has distinguished herself as an outstanding leader, serving as Coordinator of our STEM Club and captain of the cross-country team. She was recently named an AP Scholar and was inducted into the National Honor Society. She also runs track and is a member of the Beta Club, HOSA, Government Club and Forever Friends. Madelyn serves her fellow students as a Peer Tutor and as teacher for the 3rd and 4th grade afterschool robotics team.
Lilly was also recently named an AP Scholar and was inducted into the National Honor Society. She competes on the varsity lacrosse team and was recognized as team MVP last year. She is a member of the Beta Club, Key Club and Forever Friends Club. She has devoted time and attention serving St. Agnes as a retreat leader, peer mentor, and spirit week coordinator.
