Curtain Rises on Silent Sky

28 Jan, 2022
We've got your weekend entertainment covered! The St Agnes Theatre Department presents a beautiful story praising the women that history tends to forget. Silent Sky tells the true story of 19th-century astronomer Henrietta Leavitt and her fellow female researchers – or “computers” – in the Harvard University observatory who set the standard still used today for measuring distances in space while discovering thousands of stars.
This is not just a story about history. It is about love, friendship, devotion, and work that makes a difference. This show is appropriate for all ages, but will probably be best understood by students grades 5 and up. Student directors Stephanie Slavick, Paige Jerit, Lauren Brown and their casts of incredible actresses, tech crew and backstage managers have worked to make this show one that you will not soon forget.
Performances are Friday, January 28 at 7:00 pm and Saturday, January 29 at 2:00 and 7:00 pm in the Hook Theatre in Siena Hall on campus. Tickets can be purchased at the door
