We are pleased to welcome a dynamic group of educators to our St. Agnes Academy-St. Dominic School team for the 2026-2027 school year. They bring a wealth of  experience in education and a deep commitment to nurturing each student’s growth and success.

President, Dr. Shannon Gomez 

Dr. Shannon Gomez brings more than 25 years of leadership in Catholic and independent schools, most recently serving as Head of School at Connelly School of the Holy Child in Potomac, Maryland.  Grounded in a deep commitment to Catholic education, Dr. Gomez views leadership as a ministry. She is known for fostering vibrant, inclusive communities where students are inspired to grow in faith, intellect, and service. 

Dr. Gomez holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership for Social Justice from Loyola Marymount University, a Master of Science in Education with a concentration in Educational Administration from California State University, Fullerton, and a Bachelor of Science in Education with a concentration in Elementary Education and an emphasis in Fine Arts from Bowling Green State University.

Maggie Tobias - Early Childhood Learning & Behavior Specialist
Maggie Tobias brings 18 years of experience serving students in Catholic schools, including the past 11 years as a school counselor supporting students' academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development. She is passionate about partnering with families and helping every child thrive.

Rebecca Gruber - St. Dominic 4th Grade
Rebecca Gruber joins the Lower School faculty as St. Dominic School 4th grade teacher. She earned a degree in elementary education from the University of Memphis with specializations in K-5 education and special education intervention for diverse learners. A product of Catholic education and a current SAA-SDS parent, she is excited to serve our school community.

Elizabeth Neu - Kindergarten–2nd Grade Science
Elizabeth Neu holds an undergraduate degree in science and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and is both a St. Agnes alumna and current parent. She looks forward to inspiring curiosity and a lifelong love of science in our youngest learners.

Joe Johnson - Grades 4–8 Performing Arts
Joe Johnson joins the Co-Curricular team as the performing arts teacher for grades 4–8. He brings extensive experience in music education and musical productions and holds advanced degrees in reading and literacy education. He plays multiple musical instruments, and his enthusiasm for music and performance will enrich opportunities for students across the program.

Lily Crocker - Lower School & Junior High Librarian
Lily Crocker has a master's degree in education with a concentration in school library instruction from the University of Memphis and has experience supporting students from kindergarten through high school. She is committed to fostering a love of reading and creating welcoming learning spaces for our students.

David Rosenberg - 8th Grade English & History
David Rosenberg joins the Junior High faculty as an eighth-grade English and history teacher. He holds a doctorate in German language and literature and brings years of experience teaching humanities, philosophy, and literature. He enjoys engaging students through thoughtful discussion and meaningful writing.

Alicia Potts - 7th Grade Science
Alicia Potts brings experience teaching middle school science in Catholic schools and is passionate about engaging students through hands-on learning and exploration. She also has experience supporting faith formation and student leadership. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from the University of Tennessee at Martin.

 

Brother Moses Owen - Junior High Religion
Brother Moses Owen joins the Jr. High team as lead teacher for eighth-grade religion and will also teach a section of boys seventh-grade religion. He brings a strong commitment to Catholic education and will play an active role in the spiritual life of the entire school community. We are grateful to welcome him to SAA-SDS.

Kyle Buckingham - Algebra II
Kyle Buckingham holds a master's degree in mathematics from Northwest Missouri State University and has taught a wide range of math courses, including Algebra, Statistics, and AP Calculus. He is passionate about helping students build confidence and achieve success in mathematics.

Veronica Espin - Spanish
A native Spanish speaker, Veronica Espin brings more than 18 years of experience teaching students from beginning through Pre-AP Spanish and has developed Spanish curriculum for grades K–12. She is passionate about creating an immersive classroom where students gain confidence in communicating in Spanish.

 

Claire Hudson - Registrar

Claire holds a Master of Health Administration degree and brings 11 years of systems management experience. Her expertise in operational leadership, project management, team development, community engagement, and process improvement makes her a valuable addition to our school community. A member of the St. Agnes Class of 2006, Claire is also a parent to two SAA Stars.

Becky Lawler - Sophomore Theology
Becky Lawler holds bachelor's and master's degrees in education from the University of Mississippi and brings many years of experience as a Catholic educator. She is dedicated to helping every students grow in both faith and knowledge. She is the parent of a St. Agnes graduate.

Ethan Sullivan - Chemistry
Ethan Sullivan holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts and a Master of Arts in Chemistry from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He brings more than 15 years of teaching experience, including developing advanced chemistry curriculum and launching a college-level Organic Chemistry program. He is committed to inspiring curiosity and helping students develop strong scientific thinking skills.

 

ADMINISTRATIVE

Amanda Evans - St. Dominic School Admissions & Recruitment Counselor

With extensive experience in marketing and sales, Amanda brings a passion for building meaningful relationships, fostering authentic connections, and is excited to share our school's story with prospective families. We are excited to welcome not only Amanda, but also her son who will join the SDS 7th Grade Brotherhood this fall.

Alison Weems - Athletics Administrative Assistant

Alison Weems has joined our athletic staff as the Athletics Administrative Assistant. She has a Bachelor of Science Radio / TV / Film from the School of Communication at Northwestern University. Mrs. Weems has two daughters currently enrolled in the Upper School and two daughters in college. Having spent years supporting her daughters as student-athletes, she brings a strong appreciation for the important role sports play in students' growth and development.
