Applicants for ninth grade have the option to take the High School Placement Test (for scholarship consideration in December) and/or the Independent School Examination (ISEE).
All applicants to the 9th grade and current 8th grade students at St. Agnes are automatically registered for the December 2nd High School Placement Test. Please communicate with the Admissions Director if your child will only be taking the ISEE for placement consideration. For prospective students who have not submitted an application to the school, but choose to take the makeup HSPT at Saint Agnes December 9, please contact Jean Skorupa-Moore for more information.
Scholarship awards are eligible for high scores from the HSPT which is administered at St. Agnes in December. However, HSPT scores received from other test sites are eligible for acceptance consideration. Applicants for tenth or eleventh grade take the ISEE for acceptance consideration. Scholarships Awarded Based on Scores Earned on the HSPT
Sister Ann Raymond Scholarship (Top Score overall on the HSPT)
This a $3,000 scholarship awarded to the students who earns the highest overall score on the HSPT. It is renewable for four years.
Sister Suzanne Callahan Scholarship (Top Math Score)
This is a $1,000 scholarship awarded to the student who earns the top math score on the HSPT. It is renewable for four years.
Presidential Scholarship (Top 5%)
This is a $2,500 scholarship awarded to those who score in the top 5% on the HSPT. It is awarded for the freshman year only – nonrenewable.
Honors Scholarship (Top 10%)
This is a $2,000 scholarship awarded to those who score in the top10% on the HSPT. It is awarded for freshman year only – nonrenewable.
Merit Scholarship (Top Score from each Parochial and Independent School)
This is a $1,000 scholarship awarded to the student who earns the top HSPT score from each parochial and independent school. It is awarded for the freshman year only - non renewable.
Additional Scholarships Awarded to Rising Freshmen After Acceptance and Submission of Enrollment Contract
The Leadership Scholarship was established by the Upper School Peer Mentors to recognize incoming students for their leadership qualities and to encourage them to continue their leadership in high school and beyond. The Leadership Scholarship shall be limited to a rising freshman, who excels in leadership, in their current school, community or church. She should be in good academic standing, be enrolled at SAA for the coming year, and evidence good citizenship
Margaret McNulty Walsh Music Scholarship
This endowed scholarship was established in memory of Margie Walsh '44 by her family. Mrs. Walsh was the music teacher and Glee Club Director at St. Agnes Academy for 25 years. This partial scholarship is presented annually to an incoming freshman who displays an exceptional talent in music and a desire to further her musical talents.
Independent School Entrance Exam
The ISEE is a three-hour admission test that consists of three parts:
- Carefully constructed and standardized verbal and quantitative ability tests that measure your capability for learning.
- Reading comprehension and mathematics achievement tests that provide specific information about your strengths and weakness in those areas.
- An essay section.
The ISEE evaluates not only your level of reading, but also your ability to comprehend material drawn from both the sciences and social studies. Sample questions similar to those you will find on the exam are available on the ISEE web site.

Visit the ISEE web site and download the Student Guide. The ISEE Student Guide contains additional test sites and test dates, additional school codes, sample ISEE Test Questions and the ISEE Fax Registration form if needed. Fee waivers for the ISEE are available through the Admission Office of St. Agnes Academy-St. Dominic School for those students in need of assistance with the testing fee.
