New Faculty and Staff

As we usher in the new school year at St. Agnes Academy and St. Dominic School, we are excited to introduce our new faculty and staff. We look forward to the energy, talents and experience these dedicated individuals will bring to our community.


Pearson Allen –Freshman Seminar and History Teacher
Pearson Allen received a B.A. in Literary Studies from the University of Denver and spent time studying abroad at the University of Richmond in London, England. He worked in the publishing industry in New York City for several years, before he began his teaching career at the Grizzly Academy where he developed a tutoring program. He most recently taught English and technology at Saint Benedict at Auburndale.


Melodie Barton – Elementary Librarian
Melodie Barton received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama and a Master of Library Science from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. She recently worked as a librarian at Dogwood Elementary and as substitute teacher with the Germantown Municipal School District.


Allison Carruthers – Admissions Administrative Assistant
Allison Carruthers is a familiar face on our campus. Allison is an alumna of St Agnes as well as the parent of a St. Dominic alumnus, Trip Carruthers, SDS Class of 2016. Recently she has been working on campus as the receptionist for summer camp and as a substitute teacher. Allison has a degree from the University of Memphis.


DeMarcus Drumgo – Upper School Biology
DeMarcus Drumgo is originally from Louisiana. He received his B.S. in Biology with a minor in Microbiology from Northwestern State University. He played football at the collegiate level and worked as an EMT for several years before returning to graduate school. He recently completed his M.S. in Biological Sciences with a specialty in Pre-Medical as his specialty.


Manon Fleury – Upper School French Teacher
A native of France, Manon Fleury received a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Technology of Compiegne, France, and she also earned the CLIL Certification (Content Language Integrated Learning) from the Institut Universitaire de Formation des Maitres in Paris, France. Mrs. Fleury has experience teaching in both France and Switzerland. She most recently taught math and science at College EPS Begnins in Begnins, Switzerland.


Jackie Harrison – SDS Kindergarten Assistant Teacher
Jackie Harrison received a B.S. in Education with a concentration in Special Education from the University of Memphis. She has been serving as a Teacher Assistant at Berclair Elementary. She also has prior experience teaching at Grahamwood Elementary and at St. Louis School.


Lee Johnson – SDS K-6 Reading Specialist
Lee Johnson taught at the Bowie Center where she worked as a small group and one-on-one teacher. She earned She earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in English from the University of Memphis.


Sarah Joyner-Johnson – Early Childhood – Pre-K Lead Teacher
Sarah Joyner-Johnson previously taught 5 th Grade at Dexter Elementary. Prior to that was the Lead Pre-Kindergarten Teacher at Farmington Presbyterian Day School. She attended Rhodes College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rhodes College and a Master of Arts in Teaching - Elementary Grades from Christian Brothers University in Memphis.


Jared Marks – SAA Upper School Math Teacher/Upper School Volleyball Coach
Jared Marks has a Bachelor of Science in Finance with a minor in International Business from The Pennsylvania State University, Smeal College of Business. He also studied abroad at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. He taught Mathematics with Teach for America in Memphis and then continued his teaching career in the Shelby County Schools and the Green Dot Public Schools Tennessee Program. He has coached an elite volleyball club team in Memphis and worked as an assistant coach at Hamilton High School and head coach at Fairley High School.


Renee Pirkey – SAA Lower School Teacher Assistant
Renee Pirkey recently retired from the public school system after 30 years. She joins us from Lakeland Elementary School where she taught Kindergarten, 1 st grade and 3 rd grade. She has a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Memphis.


Renee Price – Early Childhood - Jr-K Teaching Assistant
Renee Price has a degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Memphis. She has experience teaching preschool through first grade. She has three daughters, onewho will be joining us in SAA Kindergarten.


Raquel Richardson – ECC Spanish Teacher
Raquel Richardson is a native of Peru where she earned a Bachelor of Social Science from Federico Villarreal University and a Bachelor of Education degree from Marceliro Champagnat University. She also received her Language Teacher Certification from Monterrico Pedagogical Institute in Peru. Mrs. Richardson previously served as the ECC Assistant Teacher at Woodland Presbyterian School. Prior to that she taught Spanish at St. George’s Independent School and New Hope Academy.


Rosa Tutor – SDS Counselor
Rosa Tutor received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Christian Brothers University and her Master of Science in Counseling from the University of Memphis. This is her 5 th  year as a school counselor. Mrs. Tutor has experience working with students grades Pre-K through 12 th  grade. She is a member of the American School Counseling Association and Tennessee Counseling Association.  

Jennifer Wyatt – SAA Kindergarten Assistant Teacher
Jennifer received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work from the University of Memphis and a Master of Science degree in Social Work from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. She was previously the Lead Teacher in the “Older Twos” class at Germantown Baptist Weekday Preschool.
