Socktober
When St. Agnes Lower School student Elaina Fik learned that the most needed item at Manna House was socks, she decided to do something about it. So she started the SOCKTOBER drive in the St. Agnes Academy Lower School.
After being elected as an SAA Student Government Association representative, she presented the idea to the SAA-SDS SGA executive committee, and with the support of the SGA, the Socktober Drive expanded to include SAA-SDS 2K-8 and even our SAA alumnae.
Elaina designed a flyer and created a video to spread the word about the need for us donate socks for those in need. Thanks to Elaina’s determination and our community’s generosity, students at St. Agnes-St. Dominic collected over 1,600 pairs of socks, which were delivered to the Manna House for distribution to the homeless of our city to stay warm throughout the winter.
