Angela Andreuccetti Award
This endowed scholarship was established by family and friends in memory of Angela, who was killed in a car accident in 1983 during her sophomore year at St. Agnes Academy. This scholarship is awarded annually to a student entering the 9th grade who maintains good academic standing and demonstrates good citizenship and financial need.
Anna’s Angel Fund
Anna's Angel Fund provides financial assistance during times of personal and family crisis for members of the SAA-SDS community. Made possible by charitable gifts from family, friends and alumnae/i, as well as proceeds from Anna's Closet, this fund has been established in memory of Anna Menkel to keep students on the path to academic success during periods of unexpected family crisis.
This partial scholarship is offered by BRAVA, the Siena Arts Alliance, which are the parent, faculty and alumnae support group of the fine arts at St. Agnes Academy. The scholarship is awarded annually to a student who has a passion for one or more of the arts.
Sr. Suzanne Callahan Math Scholarship
This scholarship, established in memory of Sr. Suzanne Callahan who taught Math at St. Agnes, is made possible by the Jagoe Brown Wade '52 Endowment Fund. The Sr. Suzanne Callahan O.P., Math Scholarship is awarded to the incoming freshman who receives the highest score on the math portion of the high school placement test.
Paul and Charlotte Clark Fine Arts Scholarship Endowment
Established by the Clark Family and the Adams Foundation, this endowment provides funding for the Clark Fine Arts Scholarships. A partial scholarship is awarded to three students representing each area of the arts: Music, Drama and Visual Arts.
Patricia Dohogne Crain Scholarship Endowment
This scholarship was established in 2004 with a generous gift from St. Agnes Academy alumna, Patricia Dohogne Crain '46, to attract top scholars to St. Agnes. It is awarded to a rising freshman with strong academic credentials.
Dominican Sisters of St. Catharine Kentucky Scholarship Endowment
This endowment was established in 1999 by the Dominican Sisters of St. Catharine, Kentucky, now known as the Dominican Sisters of Peace. This renewable partial scholarship is limited to a student with a multi-cultural background, who demonstrates need, maintains above average academics and exemplifies good citizenship.
Dominican Sisters of Peace Scholarship Endowment
Established in 2014, the Dominican Sisters of Peace Scholarship is limited to a rising Junior High or Upper School student from any of the Memphis Catholic Jubilee Schools who meets the admissions criteria for St. Agnes Academy-St. Dominic School. This is a renewable partial scholarship. The student must maintain good academics and citizenship.
Barbara Emanuel Memorial Scholarship Endowment
This fund was established in memory of Barbara Emanuel by her son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Paige Emanuel. Mrs. Emanuel was a much-loved teacher in the Upper School at St. Agnes Academy from 1987-1997. This scholarship is awarded to a rising junior or senior who intends to pursue a career in education, evidences good citizenship and has demonstrated financial need.
Rose Ferrante Scholarship Endowment
This fund was established by alumni, family and friends to honor St. Dominic School second grade teacher Rose Pacini Ferrante '54 upon her retirement. This is a partial scholarship awarded annually to a St. Dominic student who demonstrates need, maintains a C average, and exhibits good conduct and exemplary citizenship.
The mission of SAA-SDS is to educate young people in a principle - based program designed to prepare them for advanced formal and personal studies while deepening their faith and relationship with God. The General Endowment Fund assists the School in achieving its mission by providing financial support for student activities, professional training for faculty, and student financial assistance.

Sr. Elise Groves Scholarship
This scholarship was established in memory of Sr. Elise Groves O.P. who taught Latin and was a former principal at St. Agnes Academy. It is awarded to a rising freshman who demonstrates financial need, evidences good citizenship and maintains good academic standing. This scholarship is made possible by the Jagoe Brown Wade '52 Endowment Fund
Kristin Hargett Scholarship Endowment
This fund was established by Steve and Becky Hargett in memory of their niece Kristin Hargett who died in the summer of 2004. This fund provides a partial scholarship to an Upper School student who has good academic credentials and demonstrates financial need.
Mary Donahue Jorgensen Scholarship Endowment
This fund was established by the Jorgensen family in memory of their mother, Mary Jorgensen. This scholarship will provide short-term financial assistance to a current student whose ability to continue her education at St. Agnes Academy is jeopardized due to financial hardship caused by the death of a parent or guardian.
Michelle Kinsella Scholarship Endowment
The Michelle Kinsella Scholarship was established in 2008 by friends and family to honor Michelle and her remarkable recovery after she suffered injuries from a serious car accident during her sophomore year. This is a partial scholarship that is awarded to an Upper School student who exemplifies Michelle's spirit of determination and perseverance.
Lisa Lassandrello Memorial Booster Club Award of Excellence Endowment
The SAA-SDS Booster Club, in addition to family and friends, established this endowment in 2004 in memory of Lisa Lassandrello, wife of Athletic Director Jim Lassandrello and mother of SAA alumnae Jenny ‘01, Kate ‘03 and Jamie ‘05. This fund supports professional development opportunities for faculty and coaches.
Betty Luttmann Latin Scholarship
The Betty Luttmann Latin Scholarship was established in memory of Betty Luttman who taught Latin at SAA-SDS for 50 years. This Scholarship is awarded to a 7th-12th-grade student who has demonstrated financial need, evidences good citizenship and is currently studying Latin or a World Language.
Frank Martinez Scholarship Endowment
The Martinez Scholarship was established to honor Frank Martinez upon his retirement after 31 years of service to St. Agnes Academy. This scholarship is awarded to an Upper School student who has high academic credentials. Preference will be given to Hispanic students or students from any diverse socio-economic background. It is the intent of the Frank Martinez Scholarship to aid in the recruitment and retention of Hispanic students and other students from diverse backgrounds at St. Agnes Academy.
The James W. Mathis Scholarship
This endowed scholarship is named in memory of James (Jim) Mathis, a highly respected P.E. teacher and coach at St. Agnes Academy-St. Dominic School. Coach Mathis taught at St. Dominic for more that 40 years. This scholarship is presented to a St. Dominic student in 6th, 7th or 8th grade who demonstrates financial need, good academics and demonstrates exemplary citizenship. In keeping with Coach Mathis' lifelong commitment to and love for athletics, preference will be given to a student athlete.
The Kristen Mattingly Ellis and Catherine Mattingly Family Crisis Endowment
Mike and Gretchen Mattingly established the first SAA-SDS family crisis fund in 2010 in honor of their daughters, Kristen Mattingly Ellis '01 and Catherine Mattingly '04. Funds from the Mattingly Family Crisis Endowment provide financial assistance to a current student whose ability to continue his or her education at SAA-SDS is jeopardized due to financial hardship caused by the sudden death, critical illness, or accident of a parent or guardian. The student must be in good academic standing with a strong desire to complete his or her education at St. Agnes Academy-St. Dominic School.
Anna Caroline Menkel Scholarship Endowment
This fund was established in 2005 by Dale and Kathy Menkel in loving memory of their daughter, Anna, who was killed in a car accident during her junior year at St. Agnes Academy. This scholarship is awarded to a rising senior with good academic credentials, good conduct and financial need.
The Whitley Huettel Mitchell Scholarship
Family and friends established this scholarship in memory of Whitley, Class of 1983 to honor her achievements and love for SAA. This scholarship is awarded to a child of a St. Agnes Alumna. The student must be involved in school activities, community service and demonstrate good citizenship.
The Nickell Family International Scholarship
This scholarship was established by the Nickell Family, which includes two SAA graduates: Aubrey Nickell, Class of 2009 and Emily Nickell, Class of 2011. The Nickell Family International Scholarship is awarded to a rising senior pursuing a fourth year of a World language with an interest in furthering her international studies and travels.
St. Peter’s Dominican Scholarship
This scholarship supports the Dominican Mission of SAA-SDS as the School continues its commitment to Catholic education rooted in Study, Prayer, Community and Service. This scholarship will help assist a family who might not otherwise be able to send their child to St. Agnes Academy-St. Dominic School.
The Tanya Novarese Family Crisis Endowment
Family and friends established this scholarship in memory of Tanya to honor her many achievements and most importantly her community service work. Tanya lost her courageous battle to cancer. This scholarship will help provide financial assistance to a student who is experiencing hardship caused by a sudden death, critical illness or accident of a parent or guardian. The student must be in good academic standing with a strong desire to complete his or her education at SAA-SDS.
Sister Agnes Richarda Scholarship
This scholarship was established in memory of Sr. Agnes Richarda who taught generations of students in the Upper School at St. Agnes Academy. She is fondly remembered for the following words she shared regularly with her students, "Don't sell yourself short". This scholarship is awarded to an Upper or Lower School student at St. Agnes Academy who maintains good academic standing and demonstrates good citizenship and financial need.
Rita T. Ross Math Scholarship Endowment
John Ross established this scholarship in 2006 in loving memory of his wife Rita who taught math at SAA for many years. This scholarship is awarded to a rising junior who is gifted in and has love for the study of math, is academically talented, evidences good citizenship and demonstrates financial need.
Kelly Schaffler Scholarship
This award was initiated by family and friends in 2003 in loving memory of Kelly Schaffler '79. This scholarship is awarded to a St. Agnes student who is related to an SAA alumna and who exhibits the high morals, character and exuberance for life exemplified by Kelly.
Schledwitz Family Scholarship Endowment
Established in 2005 by Karl and Gail Schledwitz in honor of their daughters Kathryn '02 and Karly '05, this scholarship is awarded to a student from a culturally diverse background. Diversity is fundamental to the Dominican charism, and this endowment is an important component in fulfilling the School's mission.
Smith Family Scholarship
This scholarship, established by the Smith Family in 2011, is awarded to a student who demonstrates financial need, good citizenship, leadership potential, and who is both academically talented and motivated.
Mandy Smith Scholarship
This scholarship is named in memory of St. Agnes Academy student Mandy Smith who was killed in a car accident in September 2000. Mandy was a CBHS cheerleader. In everything Mandy did she exemplified the true meaning of friendship and enthusiasm for life. Her mother, father, family and friends established this scholarship to assist a St. Agnes Academy student who is a cheerleader for CBHS, maintains a specified GPA, demonstrates good moral character, and is a kind, well-rounded student.
Michelle Sting Scholarship
This annual scholarship was established by the Sting Family in memory of Michelle, a 1992 graduate of St. Agnes Academy, who was killed in a car accident in 1994. This is a partial tuition award given annually to a student entering her freshman year at St. Agnes Academy from the Lower School.
Marian Swicker Endowed Chair of Excellence
Established in honor of Marian Swicker, Dean Emerita for St. Agnes Academy, upon her retirement, this fund supports competitive faculty salaries and professional development for Upper School teachers.
Anita Albonetti Tadin Scholarship
This endowed scholarship is named in memory of Anita Tadin, a highly respected history teacher at St. Agnes Academy. This partial scholarship is awarded annually to a rising junior who excels in history, manifests an above average interest in history, and evidences good school citizenship.
Margaret McNulty Walsh Music Scholarship
This endowed scholarship was established in memory of Margie Walsh '44 by her family. Mrs. Walsh was the music teacher and Glee Club Director at St. Agnes Academy for 25 years. This partial scholarship is presented annually to an incoming freshman who displays an exceptional talent in music and a desire to further her musical talents.
Ann Cunningham Whitman Endowment
This endowment was established in 2003 by generous benefactors in memory of Ann Cunningham Whitman, a member of the St. Agnes Academy Class of 1920. This fund supports the School's efforts to recruit and retain the most dynamic, innovative and progressive faculty for all grade levels. Funds will be used to help maintain competitive salaries for all SAA- SDS faculties, as well as provide funding for advanced professional education.
Lauren Witty Community Service Memorial Scholarship
Family and friends established this annual scholarship in memory of Lauren, Class of 2004, to honor her many achievements and most importantly her community service work. The funds from this scholarship are presented to a St. Agnes Academy Upper School student who displays financial need and demonstrates service to the community.
