St. Agnes Academy Volleyball
TSSAA Fall Season Sport
Coach: Rebekah Sanders

General Information
The St. Agnes volleyball program strives to instill in each student-athlete the importance of personal commitment and teamwork while developing individual skills and maximizing physical fitness. Freshman, Junior Varsity, and Varsity levels of instruction and competition provide the best opportunity to evaluate a player's ability and strengthen the skills necessary to maximize her potential. Players are assessed in a tryout setting where attitude, physical ability, and skill level are the key criteria for determining team placement. At the freshman level, players learn rules of competition, game protocol, and basic defensive and offensive schemes. Major emphasis is placed on improving the fundamental skills necessary to be successful at the Junior Varsity or Varsity level. The Junior Varsity level allows developing players to continue improving critical skills while exposing them to a more demanding training regimen and a higher level of competition. At the Varsity level players are committed to a more demanding practice and play schedule. Players must demonstrate proficiency in fundamental skills and are expected to become adept at different defensive and offensive schemes. A major emphasis is placed on performance and adaptability in competitive settings. The St. Agnes Academy Varsity volleyball team competes in the Division II, Large School, West Region of the TSSAA.
